Travis Tomko, better known by his
stage name, Tyson Tomko, is an American professional wrestler, performing for
World Wrestling Entertainment on the RAW brand.
****
Career
Tomko was dubbed "The Problem
Solver," soon after his debut on RAW, reflecting his gimmick; that of a hired
enforcer. Although Tomko occasionally wrestled matches, his primary purpose was
to ensure victory for his client, Christian, a goal he usually accomplished by
interfering in Christian's matches. His gimmick eventually evolved into that of
a straight man to Christian's over the top character with delusions of grandeur,
and Tomko could often be seen on camera shaking his head in disbelief at the
situations Christian put himself and Tomko in. The duo also occasionally teamed
together.
In June 2005, Christian and Tomko
allied themselves with Eric Bischoff and his crusade against Extreme
Championship Wrestling. They were separated on June 30 when Christian was
drafted to SmackDown!.
Tomko began to be pushed as a
monster heel wrestling in singles competition notably winning matches by KO
after hitting a big boot to the back of the head on many jobbers. During one of
these many displays of power on Sunday Night Heat, "The French Phenom" Rene
Dupree showed intrest in becoming a tag team with Tomko.
Returning to RAW on August 29,
2005, he faced one half of the World Tag Team Champions Rosey, who Tomko knocked
out with a big boot to the chest when Rosey attempted a splash from the top
rope. When tag team partner The Hurricane came to Rosey's assistance, he was
also knocked out with a big boot to the head. This destruction of the tag
champions would be a move sure to impress Rene Dupree.
