Valley Wrestling
Ali began his WWE career in WWE's developmental
territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his OVW TV debut as a bodyguard named
Osama in Muhammad Hassan's entourage. When Hassan and Davari were called up to
the main roster, Ali remained in OVW wrestling with a anti-American Arab
gimmick, similar to that of the Iron Sheik.
After Paul Heyman began writing OVW TV, he expanded
his name to Osama Rodriguez Alejandro, revealing himself to be half-Palestinian
and half-Cuban. With his new Cuban dictator gimmick and his sidekick Robbie
Dawber in tow, Osama conducted interviews on OVW's television show under the
banner of his self-proclaimed Spanish version of OVW, all the while petitioning
wrestlers and fans alike to allow him to become the dictator of Kentucky--or,
"Los Kentuckos." He often came down to the ring with a "Bote For Lalo" placecard,
sitting next to Al Snow during broadcasts.
World Wrestling Entertainment
Having been called up to the main roster, Ali made
his WWE debut as a heel on the April 3, 2006 episode of WWE RAW under the name
Armando Alejandro Estrada, a Cuban businessman, as he came down to mock Ric
Flair and tell him that his time was over and that America needed a new hero,
whom being himself. After Flair took exception, Ali brought out his associate
Umaga and the two men proceeded to beat up Flair. Umaga went on to defeat Flair
at Backlash 2006, then squashed a series of jobbers over the following months.
Estrada has recently gained popularity with the fans as the fans chant along
with the pronunciation of his name. This was addressed on the June 19, 2006
edition of Raw when Estrada threw down the mic in anger as he heard the fans
chant along with the pronunciation of his name.
Estrada continued to manage Umaga, helping the
"Samoan Bulldozer" demolish numerous jobbers, and managing him to victories over
superstars like Viscera & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. At Vengeance 2006, Estrada
managed Umaga to a victory over Eugene, who was accompanied by Duggan, Doink The
Clown, & Kamala. Umaga destroyed Duggan & Doink, but Estrada stopped Umaga
before he could battle against Kamala. However, the next night on RAW, Umaga
fought and defeated Kamala.
On the July 3, 2006 edition of Raw, D-X had taken
over the control van and when Armando first addressed the crowd Shawn Michaels
of D-Generation X interrupted him and mocked his speech and laugh to promote a
new D-X T shirt. Then after Umaga won, Armando tried to talk again and D-X
interrupted him again this time with belching sounds.
