[To read the official press release, click here] Review of the Magilla Gorilla Show DVDI was looking forward to reviewing this set. It was a flash back to my childhood. No, I did not watch it in 1964, but a few years later when it was on weekday afternoons when I came home from school along with all of the other Hannah Barbera classic shows. The moment I put in the first DVD and the theme song began, a big smile appeared on my face. Watching the episodes, and yes, I watched all of the episodes, I was able to relive some fond memories and remember when the biggest worry was not being able to ride my bicycle after dark. Anyway, the DVD includes every episode of Magilla Gorilla ever aired, including some that have never appeared on a DVD. Not only that, the set also includes the other two segments of the Magilla Gorilla show - Punkin' Puss & Mushmouth and Rocochet Rabbit & Droop-a-long Coyote. Although I remember these shows as well, I do not remember all of the episodes. If you are a fan of good clean fun animations, then this is a perfect DVD for you. However, I would not recommend it for younger children because some of the images do get violent in a cartoonish sort of way. Another criticism I do have is that the all of the episodes did not begin with the opening credits and song. Some of the extras are pretty cool too, especially the Here Comes The Star feature - also rememeber, some of the extra episodes are in the special features. I found it a pleasure to watch and enjoyed the trip back to my childhood. "I don't ever want to grow up."
