Tales From The Crypt: The Complete Fifth Season in filled with all 13 half-hour episodes from the fifth season and special features including:

  • Death of Some Salesman Virtual Comic Book

Our Review of the DVDs:

The start of each episode is campy.  It starts off with the same fun, yet eerie music, then leads into the Crypt Keeper, an obvious Muppet. He then introduces you to the tale you are about to hear.  Although the beginning is campy and childish, there is nothing childish about the episodes on this DVD.

The episodes themselves are not meant for tender ears or eyes.  The episodes are chock full of decently named actors and the stories are good, real good, not to mention scary.   Some of the actors in season five include Lou Diamond Phillips, Martin Sheen, Traci Lords, Pricilla Presley and Roger Daltry to name a few.  Each episode is entertaining and may even keep you awake for just a little longer the night you watch them.

The DVD set even includes a virtual comic book called "Death of Some Salesman."  It is a series of comic book pictures with minimal animation and is narrated by the Crypt Keeper himself.  It was a nice extra, but don't knock yourself out to watch it.

The Tales From the Dark Side DVDs are a great buy for any delightfully scary night.
