Volume 3 now on DVD

Tom may catch Jerry on occasion but no one really believes the adorable little mouse will come to harm.  After all, it would have also meant the end to the most popular and beloved cat and mouse act show business.  This third Spotlight Collection volume is the final release of the William Hanna and Joseph Barbera Era Theatrical Shorts on DVD.  It showcases 35 classic cartoons, 15 freshly remastered in their Original CinemaScope Widescreen.  On any screen large or small, Tom and Jerry remain the friskiest animated adversaries of all time. Catch them if you can.

Our Review of Title

This is not the first Tom and Jerry DVD I have reviewed, so I will not go on again how much I really love this animated comedy duo.  There are 35 fantastic comedy shorts on this DVD and each one of them as good as the next.  This set has a lot of the classics, including Hatch Up Your Troubles, which was nominated for an Academy Award.  There is also a really, really fantastic and informative documentary on the history of Tom and Jerry entitled Tom and Jerry: The Tale of Tom and Jerry, and there is even a second featurette called Tom and Jerry: The Karate Gaurd, which is also a must watch.

Just remember, these, like today's Simpsons, are not intended for children, but for a more mature viewer.  But, I do remember them from my youth and they are as great as ever. I would definitely recommend this DVD for all (mature viewers).
