Our Review of the Batman Beyond, Season Three

One, Two Three and its over. The third and final season was just as good as the other two, and sometimes even better. The third season, like the rest provides greater and deeper insight into Bruce Wayne, the original Batman and Terry McGinnis, the futuristic young Batman Beyond.

Bruce guides him to use his abilities the right way and for good and Terry learns valuable life lessons while also learning how to kick some butt of the bad guys such as Inque, The Kobras and the Royal Flushing Gang. In many ways he learns to become the Batman of of the legends, but in many ways is also allowed to become his own person as well to make his own legend. Speaking about legends, there is also a very important twist to the story line brought about by Superman.

The animation and artwork is supreme and enhances the story line. The episodes are also well written and provide real development to the characters. I was sad to see an end to this classic series and only after three seasons.

The DVD also includes a few special features which are great for the fans of this series, including a panel discussion of the season by its producers entitled "Inside Batman Season 3," a featurette called "CloseUp On . . ." where some members of the creative team and Will Friedle (voice) look back on their best moments with the show. Its sad that it is over again, but now I have all three seasons, I can see it over and over again.
