Times change. Dangers remain. 10 years after he became President of the Interstellar Alliance, Sheridan prepares for a fateful Babylon 5 reunion that could prevent Earth's impending doom...if he will also compromise his core principles. Meanwhile, commander Lochley confronts an unexpected interloper on the way station - a being whose presence makes the B5 freeport the crossroads between heaven and hell. In Voices in the Dark, Series creator J. Michael Straczynski reunites with stars Bruce Boxleitner and Tracy Scoggins in two richly imagined stories set after the events of the original series. Richly imagined, too, is Straczynski's vision of the 23rd century (including a dazzling New York City) - a vision made more spectacular via filmmaking technology unavailable during the original series. Director: J. Michael Straczynski Actors: Peter Woodward, Bruce Boxleitner, Bruce Ramsay, Tracy Scoggins, Teryl Rothery, Alan Scarfe, Keegan Macintosh

On an immense space station built by the Earth Alliance, the crew of Babylon 5 is charged with maintaining the peace among the various alien races by providing a sanctuary where grievances and negotiations can be worked out among duly appointed ambassadors. Babylon 5: The Lost Tales picks up the dramatic series in 2271A.D, ten years after John Sheridan is appointed President of the Interstellar Alliance. The Lost Tales follows Sheridan as he prepares for a fateful Babylon 5 reunion that could prevent Earth’s impending doom. Unfortunately, he is also forced to compromise his own principals in doing so. At the same time, commander Lochley confronts an unexpected interloper on the way station – a being whose presence makes the B5 freeport the crossroads between heaven and hell.

Our Review of Babylon 5: The Lost Tales
I was a sometimes fan of the series. What I mean is that I would watch it if I saw it when flipping through the stations, but except for an occasional story arc, it was not one of those shows I had to watch every week. However, when I did watch it, I had always found it to be entertaining. In reviewing this DVD I had the same feeling. No, this was not the greatest Sci-Fi DVD I had ever watched, but I am glad I did watch it and it was very entertaining.
The DVD is not really a movie, but a few short stories that fill in some of the little holes left during the original series. As Executive Producer J. Michael Stracztnski points out during an interview in the Fireside Chats featurettes, the stories on the DVD provide details and added depth to the history of Babylon 5. The series is over and the main story was told. Now it is time to go back and flesh out some of the unknown tales during that history.
The stories are well told through the actors and the effects and although it is good to put into context with prior knowledge of the show, a non-fan could easily enjoy these non-movie, non-episodes. The acting, as always, is well done with actors that fit the roles they play and of course, the effects are fantastic. In fact the special effects seem better on this DVD than I remember from the original series. I wonder if they put more money into them because it definitely shows.
For those of you who were fans of the series, this is a must see DVD. It will provide you with more insight into the B5 story and its characters. For those of you that just enjoy good Sci-Fi, this is a good choice for value entertainment that you can not go wrong with. The DVD includes a lot of bonus features, such as the Fireside Chats with the producer which I found extremely informative ( Stracztnski is a very interesting character himself.
