Steven Spielberg Presents
Animaniacs! The adventures or misadventures of the Warner Brothers, Yakko and
Wakko, and the Warner Sister, Dot, who were so crazy that the studio execs
locked them away in the water town at the Studio. The witty, slapstick humor
with pop culture parodies and cartoon wackiness is on DVD for the first time
ever with 25 fantastic Animaniacs episodes.
Our Review
of Title
Talk about comedy on all levels, the Animaniac cartoons were written and
made for kids and adults of all ages. For a young child it has three
cutesy funny creatures that run around doing crazy things. For the more
mature viewer, there are funny skits and routines that they can follow, for the
adult, there is the political satire and social commentary.
This is the third DVD installment of a great animated series that was non-PC in
a time when PC began to be the buzz-word. The show, through three dog,
cat, monkey like lovable characters take a shot at everything from sex to
corruption to illiteracy while still providing pure value entertainment to its
viewers. For most, it is just a cartoon full of parodies and
slapstick comedy, but underneath it all is a message from its writers.
There are twenty-five cartoon shorts and some include other cartoon favorites
from the show such as the crotchety Slappy the Squirrel, the non-even tempered
Katie Ka-Boom, the toughest birds of them all, the Goodfeathers and other
characters that made this series so wonderful.
In addition, the DVD also includes two great bonus features: They Can't Help
It If Their Cute, Their Just Drawn That Way and They're Totally Insane-y
In Cadence With Richard Stone. These shorts provide us fans with some
insight into the design of Wakko, Yakko and Dot and its music.
