DENISE MARSA PRODUCTIONS, IN ASSOCIATION WITH SHENG MIMI ART CULTURE
DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, SEAL A DEAL FOR A FOUR MONTH ENGAGEMENT FOR
NICOLE BERKE IN BEIJING

New York, New
York (Wednesday, January 25, 2012) With an ever growing emphasis
on international relations, Denise Marsa Productions is proud to
announce that its client Nicole Berke will be delighting audiences
in Beijing when she steps on stage at Club Centro at The Kerry
Center Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing. Berke will be the featured
vocalist for the popular American R&B band The Soulcasters, led by
Boston guitarist Mike Null, from February 4 through June 4 of 2012.
It is Berkes first performance engagement outside the United
States.
Berke and Null
met on the Boston music scene when Berke was first getting started
as a young performer in the local venues. Null had always sought the
opportunity to work with her, being a big fan of her vocal style and
musical talents. He was excited to learn of her successes and
accomplishments since graduating from college in 2009. Berke, now
residing in Portland, Oregon, has been touring the northwest,
performing at festivals and appearing as a guest performer on
several Portland based bands CD releases. Null jumped at the chance
to invite Berke to join him in China. After careful consideration,
the hotel management and Sheng Mimi, the agent involved with The
Soulcasters in China, all decided that Berke was a perfect fit for
their upscale venue and clientele.
Over the past
several months, Berke has been performing, teaching and working on
pre production for her second release. Recording has been
rescheduled for the summer of 2012 due to the Beijing performances.
Berke is excited to be going to China and states, "I feel so
fortunate to have been granted this opportunity to combine travel
and music - two of my biggest passions. My younger sister was
adopted from China, and Beijing is a city that I have wanted to
revisit ever since I went there on a short trip with my family about
three years ago. It's overwhelming to imagine such a big change of
scene, but I am so much looking forward to singing with The
Soulcasters, a group of musicians I truly respect and admire. This
will no doubt be a wonderful learning experience and a chance to
grow both personally and musically."
The
multi-talented musician looks forward to returning to the states
inspired by her experiences in China, and focusing all her attention
on the development of the new record in June. The release will be
Berkes first full length recording since her 5-song critically
acclaimed debut CD FRONDESCENCE in 2008. Berke, who wrote all the
songs on the CD, has been writing songs since she was a young
teenager. As Berke continues to explore and develop her own musical
sound and style both fans and early music industry followers are
highly anticipating her second release.
