Press release:
ZOMBA LABEL GROUP ROCKS THE CHARTSWITH 3 SINGLES IN THE TOP 15 ON ROCK CHARTAs Canadian Rockers Three Days Grace Hit #1 On Alternative & Rock Charts Simultaneously With Their Newest Hit “PAIN”
New York, NY – March 5, 2007 - The Zomba Label Group continues to make a name for itself in the rock world with the success of Three Days Grace, Tool, and relative newcomers Bullet For My Valentine. According to one of the music industry’s top trade publications, Radio & Records, ZLG currently boasts three albums in the Top 15 on the Active Rock chart: Three Days Grace ranks #1 on both the Active and Alternative Rock charts with their latest release “Pain;” Tool moves up to #12 with “Jambi;” and Bullet For My Valentine holds on to #14 with their current single “All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me).”
The domestic and international successes of the three very different rock bands attest to the impact of strong radio airplay and on-going touring in connecting to each band’s ever-growing fan-base. Additionally, the recent chart developments further demonstrate Zomba’s commitment to developing a strong rock artist roster. Towards this end, ZLG just signed the highly sought- after Australian-based indie-rock group Augie March and anticipates launching them in the U.S. within the next few months. More details to follow.
THREE DAYS GRACE
The platinum-selling, four-man rock band Three Days Grace has emerged as one of the top rock bands in the country. Last year TDG released their sophomore album One-X, and their first single, “Animal I’ve Become” won a Billboard Award for “Rock Song of The Year,” and was also the #1 song overall at the Active Rock format for 2006 . Their current smash hit “Pain,” is quickly following in its footsteps; “Pain” has remained #1 on the Alternative Rock chart for three weeks, this comes just as the song dominated the #1 spot on the Active Rock chart for 9 weeks. To date, “Pain” is “The Most Played Song of The Year” and the group is "The Most Played Artist The Year" at the rock formats for 2007. “Pain,” marks TDG’s fourth #1 single at Active Rock and third #1 single at Alternative. The group just recently wrapped up a sold out headlining club tour and are now on the road with Nickelback. Fans can catch the band performing “Pain” on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 17th.
TOOL
Tool debuted #1 on the Billboard Albums chart with their highly anticipated fourth album 10,000 Days last summer, and went on to achieve global success with #1 album debuts in Norway, Holland, Austria, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. To date, the album has spawned two #1 songs and three Top 20 hits including: “Vicarious” (#1), “The Pot” (#1), and their current single “Jambi” (currently #12 on the Active Rock” chart). “Jambi” continues to gain momentum at radio and seems destined to join the rest of their releases at the top of the charts. To date, the platinum-certified 10,000 Days has sold over 1.4 million units domestically, and has remained on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for 43 consecutive weeks. In addition, Adam Jones, the lead guitarist and art director for Tool, recently won a 2007 Grammy Award for “Best Recording Package” for the album. Presently, Tool is featured on the April cover of Revolver Magazine as the readers poll “Band of the Year 2006.”
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
Listed as an “Artist To Watch” in Revolver and spotlighted in Penthouse Magazine as a “Band You Need To Know,” Bullet For My Valentine, the metal-core quartet from Bridgend, South Wales, is also making their mark in the charts. Their current single, “All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)” has risen to the Top 15 of the Active Rock charts in only 7 weeks, and just debuted at alternative radio. “All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)” is receiving significant radio airplay at top modern rock stations all across the country; KROQ in Los Angeles, KITS in San Francisco, 91X in San Diego, KPNT in St Louis, KDGE in Dallas, and WJRR and WOCL in Orlando. Furthermore, “All These Things…” is receiving strong support from MTV2 where the video ranks #3 and is in “ELITE 8” rotation. Bullet For My Valentine is currently gearing up to headline a spring club tour.
