Anna Nicole Smith is Finally Buried 22 Days After Death

Friday, March 02, 2007

Anna Nicole Smith was finally buried today during a private funeral in the Bahamas and was laid to rest next to the grave of her son Daniel.  Smith had tragically died of unknown reasons last month and her body has been tied up in a legal battle between her mother Virgie Arthur and her estate as to who has rights to the body and its disposition (in fact she tried a last minute effort to hold up the services even early this morning).  It was ruled in court that her body may be buried in the Bahamas in a grave next her son, who had also passed away a few months ago caused by a strange mix of prescription medications. The funeral was attended by Howard K. Stern, her lover, her mother Virgie, a former lover Larry Birkhead and other who all claim a stake to her four month old daughter Dannielynn (all three also gave eulogies).  Country singer Joe Nichols also sang two songs during the service. The minister presiding over the services was the son of the nanny who is presently caring for Dannielynn.  Smiths last words to the nanny before she left to come back to the states were “If anything happens to me, take care of my baby.” {Reported by Ian Ripley}
