Yvonne De Carlo, Actress Known For Here Role as Lilly on The Munsters Died

Lilly Munster (aka Yvonne De Carlo), star of the syndicated television comedy sitcom The Munsters (1964-1966) has passed away.  She was 84 and died of natural causes.

De Carlo's career began in the early 1940's working for Paramount Pictures in small roles.  After being fired by Paramout, she was picked up by Universal Studios (this is where her career took off).  She starred in films such as Calamity Jane and Sam Bass, and The Ten Commandments (starring Charlton Heston).  In 1964, she received her most remembered role as the loving mother, wife and daughter in a situational comedy however, she was one of the living dead with a werewolf as a son, Frankenstein's creature as her husband and a vampire as her father. After her run on TV was over, she appeared on stage, which included a role in Follies, which earned her a Tony Award.

De Carlo is survived by a son.  Our prayers go out to her family, friends and fans.
