Greg Page, The Yellow Wiggle, Quits Group Due to Health Issues
Wednesday, December 6, 2006
The front singer, and founder, in the children’s popular group, Greg Page (better known as the Yellow Wiggle), quit the group due to illness. He suffers from orthostatic intolerance which makes him dizzy when standing or dancing from a lack of oxygen. Greg has been with the Wiggles since its inception in 1990. The band grossed almost 40 million dollars last year, making them the highest grossing act in Australia – more than AC/DC and Nicole Kidman combined.
The producers believe the group and show will not be hurt by Page’s departure as their audience (2 and 3 year olds) views the character as a color and not as an individual. He is best known for singing songs like “Fruit & Salad” and “Wake Up Jeff.”
We all wish him well and a speedy recovery. {Reported by Jaeh-D}
