Katie Couric Debuts on CBS Evening News as Lead Anchor

September 6, 2006

Last night, Katie Couric became the first female to become the lead anchor on any of the major news stations.  The show had mixed critics, but earned the number one ranking for most watched program on TV yesterday.  During her broadcast, she also revealed the much awaited first pictures of Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. {Reported by Ian Ripley}
