Release:
KRISTY FRANK
Introducing
Kristy Frank, the 16-year-old alternative
pop/rock sensation from the city of Vacaville, California . Kristy is ready to
storm the industry with the July 2006 release of her debut CD on Ruff Nation
Music.
For her first CD, Kristy has recorded with acclaimed producers Eddie Kramer (Jimmy
Hendrix, The Beatles), Jimmy Harry (Kelly
Clarkson's last two CDs), Ron Harris (Christina
Aguilera's first CD and Spanish CD), Jon Ingoldsby (Elton
John, Madonna,
Britney Spears), Stebe McNerney
(Yuki-Japan, Dekko) and Shelley Peiken (Celine
Dion, Meredith Brooks, LeAnn Rimes). "I've been so blessed to be able to
work with so many well-established writers and producers," she says. "I have a
special relationship with all of my producers so when I'm in the studio, it's
play time for me. But when I'm recording, I definitely do my thing and get the
job done."
Among the standouts on the disc are the heartfelt "Addicted To You," the
vulnerable "Messed Up" and the powerful "Lift Off." "It's very difficult for me
to pick a favorite track," she continues, "but one song that I hold very close
to my heart is 'Unattached.' The meaning behind the song is just so powerful.
And it's a really fun one to sing and play on the acoustic guitar."
Kristy is ready to join the next generation of teenage superstar artists.
"Performing live is my thing, it's what I was born to do," she says. "I make
sure to provide a high-energy show. I've been on stage my whole life so being on
stage feels like home to me. Lately I've been working with Radio Disney and
performing in a lot of their shows, and that's been a blast!" Kristy lists a
performance with B2K at a Disney concert as one of her favorite early career
highlights. Among her musical influences are
Alanis Morrisette,
Gwen Stefani,
Mariah Carey, Jewel and
Janet Jackson.
Kristy is featured on the soundtrack to "Darcy's Wild Life" (Sony/BMG) singing
"Clothes Make The Girl." She also currently has a development deal in place for
an animated feature film and cartoon series entitled "Rebel Girl.”
A veteran entertainer who has wowed audiences in over 100 shows and counting,
Kristy toured the country as Baby June in the Broadway musical "Gypsy," and
performed on TV's "Star Search" and "Ed McMahon's Next Big Star" all before the
age of ten. Kristy began her professional career when she was discovered by
manager/producer Livio Harris at a Los Angeles "Best New Talent of the Year"
showcase.
Kristy currently splits her time between Vacaville and Los Angeles.
