STARZ ENTERTAINMENT AND JUMPCUT OPEN THEIR WEB DOORS TO FIND COMEDIC TALENT FOR NEW SHOW

Becomes First Pay Television Service to Participate

in This Type of Interactive Audience Marketing


SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., August 8th, 2006 - Jumpcut.com, the leading online video editing solution today announced that it will team with Starz Entertainment Group LLC (Starz) to give comedic hopefuls and fans a chance to participate in its new micro-series Stand Up or Shut Up! a funny, insightful, and sometimes poignant look at what it takes to become a comedian. From today through September 4th, 2006, wannabe comedians can go to Jumpcut.com to upload and edit themselves into existing Stand Up or Shut Up! content for a chance to win prizes along and their entry being broadcast on a Starz website or one of its other programming services*.

 

Consumer generated content is gaining momentum as the dominant channel for getting brand messages out. This partnership marks the first time a television movie service is participating in this type of interactive audience marketing. Comedians and fans of the series can go online, edit their act into an episode and make it available to the Stand Up or Shut Up Jumpcut community for viewing, remixing, commenting, and a chance to be broadcast on a Starz programming service. The goal is to provide a deeper, more multimedia experience and extend the value of the show’s content for its viewers.
