Mel Gibson Apologizes for Anti-Semitic Remarks after DUI Arrest

Mel Gibson was arrested for alleged DUI this past Friday.  At first this seemed like the usual arrest of a celebrity while they were allegedly drunk.  However, TMZ.com reports that the arrest of Gibson was not "usual" - they report that Gibson was not easily detained and during this time, he also blurted out anti-semetic remarks while in the police car, including "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."    TMZ.com claims that there was a cover-up of these incidents.

Gibson has been under scrutiny over the past year or two after the release of Passion of the Christ, which some groups called anti-Semitic and the fact that his father told the New York Times that the Holocaust did not happen only added fuel to the fire.

Today, Gibson apologized for what he called the "despicable" remarks and was deeply ashamed.  However, the Anti-Defamation League issued a statement stating that this is not enough. {Reported by Ian Ripley}
