Susan Boyle Biography

• Susan Boyle was born in 1962 in Blackburn, Scotland and was the youngest of 9 siblings

• Susan has had limited vocal training, and has mostly sung in her church choir and at Karaoke night in her local pub

• Appeared on Britain's got talent on April 16th, 2009. When she stepped on the stage, the audience and contestants seemed amused looking at this "frumpy" looking and forty-seven years old woman walking onto the stage.  When she began answering questions Simon Cowell rolled his eyes.  However, when she began singing "I Dreamed A Dream" from Le Miserable, she mesmerized the three judges (Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden), the audience and all TV viewers with her beautiful voice.  She signed up to be entered in American Idol to fulfill a request from her mother before she passed away.  All three judges gave her an overwhelming YES and she moves onto the competition phase of the show.  In some exiting interviews, this 47 year-old said that she was not married, never had a boyfriend, and had never even been kissed. She spent most of her life taking care of an ailing mother - she now lives at home with her cat Pebbles.  The YouTube of her appearance on the show has also taken the Internet by storm and has taken this unassuming woman and made her almost overnight into an international star.
