Interview With Karla from the
Slumber Party Girls
Questions by Ian Ripley, September 10, 2006
1)
How challenging were the tryouts to be a SPG?
The tryouts were challenging because we had to audition against a lot of
talented girls, and not only did you have to be a great singer but a
great dancer and actress as well.
2) Have you girls become good friends since being selected?
We have become like sisters since being selected. we all have the same
passion for what we do, so we have a lot in common. we're really close,
we tell each other EVERYTHING! :)
3) Where did the name "Slumber Party Girls" come from?
Well we host all the upcoming saturday morning shows for CBS and the
block is called "KOL's Super Secret Slumber Party," so that's where the
name came from.
4) How much of your own individual backgrounds will be displayed in your
music?
We all have a different taste in music and the albums displays that. the
album is multi-genre, mainly pop but different musical influences such
as rock, hip-hop, R&B, and Latin. for example, in the song "salsa" Lina and
I both sing in Spanish.
5) What kind of preparation did you (are you) go through to prepare for
your appearance on KOL's Saturday Morning Slumber Party?
Well we had to record our album, learn dance routines to all the songs,
and prepare ourselves for the mini acting scenes we do throughout the
block.
6) What can you tell our readers about your upcoming album?
i can certainly tell you that there is something for everyone on our
album. we put so much love and passion into the album and we're excited
to share it with everyone!
7) How "big" do you expect the SPGs to be in the next year or two?
the slumber party girls have set such high goals and we hope to achieve
them all. hopefully we sell millions of records and merchandise and the
slumber party girls become known worldwide.
8) How do you respond to critics that say that you are "no more than a
corporate manufactured group."
Well I think when the public gets to see how diverse we are and what we
all bring to the table, they'll be able to appreciate our music and
understand the passion we have for what we do. they'll realize that we
are true artists and not just a group of girls put together by a
company.

Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado,
Pharrell.
