Avril Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in
Napanee, Ontario (Canada).
At
16 she dropped out of school, moved to New York
City and began to work on her music career.
In
2002, she released her first album, Let Go,
which included the song complicated that went
straight up to the top of the charts – and was
4x Platinum by 2009.
She
won the ASCAP Award for Most Performed Song from
a Motion Picture for her songs in Bruce
Almighty.
Under My Skin, her second album, debuted at
#1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
In
June 2005 Avril Lavigne got engaged to rocker
Deryck Whibley (lead singer of Sum 41). They
married on July 15, 2006.
Featured in Girls of Maxim Gallery in 2006. She
also voiced a character (Heather) in the
animated movie Over The Hedge.
The Best Damn Thing, her third album,
reached #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart in
2007.
In
2008, she made her first big screen debut in the
movie Fast Food Nation.
She
started a perfume line in 2009, and started by
releasing a fragrance called Black Star. She
also divorced Deryck Whibley that same year.
Her
fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby, was also a
top 10 album, when it was released in 2011.
