Get the handkerchiefs ready for Miracle in the Rain, starring Jane Wyman and Van Johnson as lonely strangers who meet, fall in love and make plans never to part when he returns from the front. Like The Clock of 11 years earlier, Miracle beguiles with vignettes of bustling World War II New York. And it shines with its sense that those we hold close to our hearts are always with us. The film is based on the novel by Hollywood writer Ben Hecht, and the lush score composed by legendary film composer Franz Waxman (Sunset Blvd. and The Spirit of St. Louis). Review of Sample Movie
This is the type of romance movie we no longer see in the movies.  Not a lot of special effects, not a lot of sex, but it has all of the passion and true acting professionalism that Jane Wyman and Van Johnson bring to the screen.  Wyman and Johnson are two lonely souls who, by chance, find each other during a rain storm.  Pressures at home and duties to country during World War II try to pull these lovers apart. Movies just are not made that way any more.  It is one of those classics that you can watch over and over again.  Besides the movie, the DVD also includes two "Behind the Cameras" specials, as well as the original theatrical trailer.
