Our Review:

There are six DVDs here that have never, I said it, never, been on DVD before in the Hollywood Collection Boxed Set. As a collector of DVDs and a fan of Elvis Presley, that is pretty cool all by itself. Although Elvis never won an Academy Award for his acting, every one of his movies were good. They all included good looking girls, a simple plot, great music, and of course, the king himself. The movie also shows the range and diversity in his acting. For instance, In Charro!, Elvis plays a tough guy in the wild west, in Girl Happy, a lounge singer, a photographer in Live A Litte, Love a Little, and even plays two different roles in Kissin' Cousins. However, he does stay with that cowboy type role in Tickle Me and Stay Away Joe. This is a great additive to any Elvis DVD collection and almost makes mine complete. Besides the movie are original theatrical trailers, and a bunch of nice picture cards with each DVD. Girl Happy includes the original theatrical version with the Startin' Tonight song sequence (not available in the VHS release) and Kissin' Cousins is also the original version and includes the Rocky Mountain Boy Song as well. This is an awesome box set - period.

In Elvis: That's The Way, you get to see Elvis as he really was, and in this documentary film, you really get up close and personal. This is a two disk special edition, so you get to see the original documentary as it was released in 1970, but on a second disk, there are a lot of great featurettes including Patch It Up and The Restoration of Elvis. This is something any Elvis fan should not do without.

This Is Elvis is just the cherry on top of the cake, as another documentary on the life of the King Himself. It includes a true retrospective and includes interviews with those that were close to him. Included are the original 1981 release, and the additional scenes they includes in 1983. If you want to know about Elvis, this is the DVD for you.

You cannot go wrong with any of these DVDs.
