Jaime Pressly was born on July 30, 1977
in Kingston, North Carolina.
She was very athletic as a child, as
well as beautiful. Her mother was a professional dancer and coached
her as a dancer. She also performed gymnastics on a professional
level. However, it was her beauty that brought her to fame when she
appeared on the cover of Teen Magazine in 1990.
In 1997 she officially emancipated from
her parents and began to pursue a career as an actress. Her first
movie debut was in Poison Ivy: New Seduction that same year.
Her good looks, athletic build and talent quickly provided her with
other roles including The Journey: Abduction (1997),
Against the Law (1997), Can’t Hardy Wait (1998),
Ringmaster (1998) and Coyote Moon (1999). She also
appeared on a few television shows including: Silk Stalkings,
Mortal Kombat and Push. She also continued to model
around the world at this time.
The actress & model also caused her own
publicity when she appeared fully nude in Playboy magazine in
March 1998, and again posed nude in the February 2004 issue. She
could also be seen nude in the May 2006 issue of Allure.
It was not until 1999 that she got her
big break on television, when she was cast as Audrey Griffin on the
TV series Jack and Jill.
After Jack and Jill ended, she
appeared in other movies, including Not Another Teen Movie in
2001, however most of the other movies were not big hits.
She continues to appear in movies,
including the recent Death to the Supermodels and the
upcoming Cruel World and Venus & Vegas. In addition,
she puts her good looks to work and continues to model for magazines
(she has appeared on the cover of Stuff multiple times) and,
also had a gig as the spokeswoman for Liz Claiborne
Cosmetics beginning in 2001.
She made her first
appearance on Maxim's 102 Sexiest Women in the World in 2002, and
came in at #8.
Her acting career took
a step up when she was cast as Joy Turner in 2005 for the TV sitcom
"My Name Is Earl." For this role she was nominated for the
2006 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Then she won the award in 2007. This role also brought a
number of other nominations for a variety of other awards, such as a
Golden Globe. She maintained this role during all five seasons of
the show until it ended in 2009.
While enjoying her role
on Earl, she became involved with a number of other projects,
such as appearing in videos (e.g.,
Aerosmith), singing a song
("Fever") with the
Pussycat Dolls,
producing the movie Death to Supermodels, hosting an episode
of Saturday Night Live (Oct. 2006), and much more.
Jaime Pressly started
dating longtime friend, DJ Eric Calvo (aka Eric Cubeechee).
The couple became engaged in October 2006, and had their first child
in May 2007 (Dezi James Calvo). The couple separated/split up
in November 2008.
She became engaged to
entertainment lawyer Simran Singh in July 2009 and the couple
married in September of that same year.
After "My Name is Earl"
went off the air in 2009 she appeared in a TV movie entitled Rex.
She then signed on for a number of other movies for the small screen
(e.g., Beauty and the Briefcase with
Hillary Duff)
and silver screen (e.g., Venus & Vegas, The Oogieloves in
the Big Balloon Adventure, and more).
