Review of This Crazy Life

One caveat - I did not really enjoy the album the first time through.  However, I was not able to fully pay attention to hit.  In subsequent listenings, I grew to enjoy the songs more and more.  Two of my favorite songs on the album include the "4th of July," which is a really nice song with amazing vocals.  "Tip Toe" is also a song I really enjoyed for both the music and the range of music that Joanna displays to an almost bluesy, gritty chords. To fully get the feel for the album, you must also listen to the lyrics.  They are go beyond just the surface lyrics and reach out to you.

A very good attempt for her debut album, however, Although she shows great range, some of the songs try to do too much.  As such it is hard to identify her music.  It is sometimes rock, sometimes country, sometimes contemporary and sometimes pop.  But with that voice and lyrics, it will not be long until she becomes one of the top female vocalists around.
