Take Me Home (2005)

Christine Evans

Warner Bros.

Review of Take Me Home

There are somewhere around 27 or 28 thousand debut albums released each year.  Most do not make it.  Many times it is because of poor production, poor marketing or just because the artist has no talent.

Lack of talent is not the case for Christine Evans' debut album, Take Me Home. Although Christine is still young and inexperienced in the industry, she already shows a maturity and what it takes to be a professional musician.

She sings like a song bird, but that can be said of many other artists out there.  However, there is something else that just grabs you as you listen.  She has a voice that is pleasing with lyrics that are heartfelt and enriching.

From just the first two tracks, "If Only" and "I'm So Alone" you can already get the sense of great things to come,  "If Only" showcases her voice and vocal range, while "I'm So Alone" highlights the depth of her music as well as the depth of her lyrics.

To be honest, some of the later tracks are a bit disappointing after listening to the first few gems on this CD.  Mostly because the songs become repetitive in nature and continue with the same tempo and beat.  However, it is still a relatively solid album for a debut effort and overall well produced.
