Review of No Place Like Brooklyn

Jeannie Ortega is a young artist who hails from Brooklyn, New York.  She has a similar voice style to Pink, but it’s not being showcased in this album.    The lead single “Crowded” featuring Papoose follows the same catchy cliché formula that most “hip pop” artist use, so it draws you in.  You find yourself singing along and tapping your foot.

My criticism is that it’s a shame when an album is overproduced with beats and sampling, because you don’t get to hear the voice of the artist -- and that is what happened with Jeannie Ortega’s debut album “No place like Bklyn.”

I would have loved to hear more of Jeannie Ortega’s voice, hopefully in her sophomore album will get to hear her voice. {Reviewed by J.Cosme}
