Lindsay Dee Lohan was born on 2nd July 1986 in New York City. Her
parents are Dina and Michael Lohan. She has three siblings: Aliana,
Dakota and Michael. [Note: She changed her middle name from Dee to
Morgan. -- Her father was sentenced to jail in May 2005 for
attempted assault, driving without a license and other things.]
She began her acting career at age three as a Ford model.
As a child she appeared in dozens of television commercials.
Her first big break as an actress came in 1996 at the age of ten
when she appeared as Ali Fowler in the daytime soap Another World.
She followed this up in 1998 when she stared in the remake of the
film The Parent Trap. For her role(s), she won the Young
Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young
Actress and was nominated for the Blockbuster Entertainment Award
for Favorite Female Newcomer and the YoungStar Award for Best
Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy Film
In 2003 she was awarded the Teen Choice Award for Choice Breakout
Movie Star - Female
She continued to pursue her movie career and starred opposide of
Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday (2003). For this role she
was awarded the MTV Movie
Award for Breakthrough Female Performance and the Teen Choice Award
for Choice Movie Hissy Fit. She was also nominated for the Saturn
Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor and the Young Artist
Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress
Because the movie career was doing so well, she moved to Los
Angeles in 2004 and initially moved in with the actress Raven after
arriving there.] She also began to date teen heartthrob
Aaron
Carter for a few months. However, Carter was still dating
Hilary Duff. This has caused both girls to say derogatory
statements against each other publicly and the feud has continued
ever since.
Now that she was closer to the movie studios, she moved right ahead
and starred in Mean Girls in which she was awarded two Teen Choice
Awards (Movie Actress – Comedy and Movie Blush) and nominated for
another two Teen Choice Awards (Movie Chemistry and Movie Liar).
Not only was she busy with her acting career, she also released the
Speak album in 2004 and it went right up to the top of the
charts (topping out at #4 on Billboard’s album chart). The music
video for the hit song “Rumors” showed a very grown up Lindsay. In
2004 she had a well-publicized romance and breakup with actor Wilmer
Valderrama (70s Show). This relationship caused another
fight with yet another teen pop-star,
Ashlee Simpson who
allegedly began dating Valderrama while he was still dating Lohan.
When Ashlee and older sister
Jessica Simpson tried to get
into an after MTV Awards party hosted by Lohan, they were stopped at
the door and not allowed to enter.
Lohan has lost a significant amount of weight during the early part
of 2005 (not that she ever looked fat) – she says that it is to
better get into the role of her characters.
In FHM’s list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World, Lindsay
Lohan ranked #10.
2005 continued with another busy year for Lohan who was in Disney’s
Herbie: Fully Loaded and will be in the soon to be released
Just My Luck.
This very sought after actress has been rumored to have been signed
for many different movies over the next few years, however, we know
that she will be in A Prarie Home Companion in 2006. When she is not
acting, she will continue to model in such magazines as Vogue
and begin working on her sophomore album.
Vanity Fair
fashion magazine announced that Lindsay will be posing for their
cover and will probably be nude or topless, such as
Paris Hilton's topless and
almost naked
pose in the October 2005 issue.
Lindsay
Lohan was in her second car crash in October 2005 caused by
paparazzis chasing her (the first accident was in May).
Her third
album, Confessions of a Broken Heart is slated to be released
in late November 2005.
In July
of 2006, she received a letter that went public that told her that
she was being unprofessional after she showed up for work late a
couple of days. Dina, Lindsay's mother, came out publicly
defending her daughter.
She broke
her wrist (fractured in two places) while at a night club in New
York City in September 2006.
After
much criticism for her heavy partying by the public, the media and
her peers, she began attending AA meetings in December 2006.
In
January 2007, she went into the hospital to have her appendix
removed, but made a speedy recovery. In July 2007, Lohan was
arrested for her second DUI. In 2007, her movie I Knew Who Killed
Me was released and panned by critics and fans (she was
nominated for a worst actress award for the movie).
Lohan
posed nude for New York magazine while copying old
Marilyn
Monroe photos, including one where she posed nude.
In
December 2008, Lohan, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar,
told of her lesbian relationship with Samantha Ronson.
Her third
album (tentatively titled Spirit In The Dark) was to be
released in December 2008, but it has continuously been pushed back
(one single, "Bossy" was released in 2008, but that was all).
Lohan and
Samantha Ronson broke up in April 2009 and Lohan was heartbroken
over the incident.
Lohan
began filming the movie The Other Side in late 2009, but was
"fired" in April 2010 and replaced with another actress. However,
that same month she was picked to portray porn star Linda Lovelace
(e.g., Deep Throat) in the film Lovelace.
In May
2010, Lindsay Lohan failed to appear before the court for a DUI
progress report. Lohan did not appear and claimed it was
because her passport was stolen while in France. A re-hearing
was set and she was ordered to attend weekly alcohol education
classes, wear an alcohol monitoring "SCRAM" bracelet, and simply not to
drink alcohol.
For going
against the terms of her arrangement with the court, on July 6, 2010
Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail beginning on July 20, 2010,
followed by three additional months of drug and
alcohol rehab to begin within two
days of being released from prison.
Lindsay
Lohan was released from jail at 1:35 AM on Monday, August 2, 2010.
In September, the film Machete was released with Lohan playing a
wild girl character to much criticism. In September she failed
a drug test in prohibition of her probation, she was sentenced to
jail (she spent 1 day), then entered the Betty Ford Clinic, and
remained there until January 2011.
After
leaving rehab in January 2011, it did not take her long to get back
into trouble and was charged with stealing a necklace from a jewlry
store in February. She pleaded no contest, the judge put her
on house arrest. In October 2011, a judge revoked her probation and
sent her to jail -- but she did not spend very long and was able to
post bail. In November she was sentenced to 30 days, but was
shortened to only 5 hours due to overcrowding.
Lohan
bared it all and posed naked in the January/February issue of
Playboy magazine -- which was inspired by the original shoot of
Marilyn Monroe in Playboy
decades earlier.
In March
2012, she hosted Saturday Night Live (for the fourth time).
Later in the month, for the first time in five years, a judge freed
her from her probation restrictions such as community service,
travel restrictions, etc. She is free, and the judge let her
go saying that they do not want to see her back there again.
Lohan has
been confirmed as Elizabeth
Taylor for the movie Liz and Dick.
She also does a lot of work for charities in her spare time such as
Dream Come True (her own charity) as well as United Cerebral Palsy
Association, The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation and Save
the Children.
Hobbies & Interests: Reading, writing, swimming, sports (basketball, gymnastics,
rollerblading), shopping, and spending times with her family.
