Emma Watson was born on April 15, 1990 in
Oxfordshire, England to parents Christopher and Jacqueline Watson
(both lawyers)
(divorced). She has a younger brother named Alex (b.
1993). Her parents, both being re-married, have also given Emma
half-brothers & sisters.
She participated in plays while at school
(Headington, an all-girls school) as a
young child such as Arthur: The Young Years and the Happy
Prince. This was the only acting experience she had before
appearing on the silver screen.
Her big break came when she was selected for
the role of Hermione Granger in the movie adoption of
J.K. Rowling's
book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This was
her first professional acting role and the movie was a smash hit.
She has also co-starred in the following two
Harry Potter movies (Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of
Azkaban) with the fourth movie (Goblet of Fire) due out
in later this year. She is currently working on the adoption of the
fifth book entitled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
with co-stars
Rupert Grint (Ron
Weasley) and
Daniel Radcliff
(Harry Potter).

acting has not been solely on the set of Harry Potter. She has
also been in a TV movie entitled Ballet Shoes in 2007, and
lent her voice to The Tale of Despereaux in 2008.
In
2009, the beautiful Emma Watson turned to modeling, became the face
of Burberry's Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. She also worked as a
creative director for a line of clothing by People Tree that was
released in February 2010.
She
mimicked her on-screen personality in real life and was/is a
straight A student. Wanting to pursue a college career, she
began attending Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
