RUPERT GRINT BIOGRAPHY

Rupert Grint was born on August 24, 1988 in Hertfordshire, England to
parents Nigel and Jo Grint. He has, one brother (James) and three
sisters (Georgina, Samantha and Charlotte).
-
With
no prior professional acting experience, he took a chance on getting
a role in the first Harry Potter movie and sent in a home
made video of himself (which included a rap about himself). His
limited acting in a school play was all the experience he had. The
video caught the interest of the right people in casting and he was
called in for an audition.

The
audition eventually led to his movie debut as Ron Weasley in
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001. The movie was a
mega success. For his role he has been awarded the Golden
Satellite's Special Achievement Award for Outstanding New Talent and
the Young Artist Award for Most Promising Young Newcomer. He was
also nominated for the Empire Award for Best Debut and Young Artist
Award for Best Ensemble in a Feature Film along with Emma Watson &
Tom Felton.

He also went on to star
in two more Harry Potter movies, with a third, Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire currently under production.
