JOHN FIEDLER QUICK BIOGRAPHY

  • John Fiedler was born on February 3, 1925 in Platteville, Wisconsin to Margaret and Donald Fiedler.  Has a brother James and a sister Mary (Dean).  The family moved to Shorewood, Wisconsin in 1930 (outside of Milwaukee).

  • He served in the US Navy during World War II as a yeoman third class.

  • Began his career on radio (aka Johnny Fiedler)

  • Performed on Broadway in such plays as A Raisin in the Sun.

  • First movie appearance was as Juror #2 in Twelve Angry Men (1952)

  • Appeared as Vinnie in the movie The Odd Couple (1968)

  • Portrayed Mr. Peterson, a patient on the Bob Newhart Show (1972)

  • Did many voice-overs for animation films such as Robin Hood (1973) and The Fox and the Hound (1981).  He is most famous for his voice of the timid, lovable and always frightened Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. First did Piglet’s voice in the 1968 animated movie, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day and continued through Pooh’s Heffalump Movie in 2005.

  • Passed away on June 25th, 2005 of natural causes. [One day after the death of Paul Winchell, the voice of Tigger]
