Jeremy Sumpter was born on February 5,
1989 in Monterey California to Sandy and Gary Sumpter. He has a
twin sister, Jessica and a younger sister Gigi (Jennifer) who are
both actresses. When he was
young, his family moved to live in a small town in Kentucky (Mount
Sterling).

He has always been interested in acting
and had many artistic talents, even as a young child. At age six,
he was accepted into the Gifted Arts Program (the youngest child to
ever be accepted). In 1999, Jeremy won the pre-teen of the year
award at the IMTA’s Pre-Teen Model of the Year competition. There
he met and signed with a talent agent and moved to Los Angeles in
2000 to pursue a career in acting. He quickly received his first
movie role in Frailty as the Young Adam Meiks. His role in
Frailty nominated him for the Saturn Award
for Best Performance by a Younger Actor.

He then appeared in Murphy’s Dozen,
a made for TV movie in 2001, and followed it up the following year
with two more movie appearances in Just a Dream and Local
Boys. For his role in Just a Dream, he was awarded the
Young Artist Award for Best Performance in
a TV Movie, Mini-Series or Special - Leading Young Actor.

His big break came in 2003 when he was
cast for the title role in the movie Peter Pan which he and the
movie receive great reviews. He was awarded the Saturn Award for
Best Performance by A Younger Actor and the Young Artist Award for
Best Performance in a Feature Film -
Leading Young Actor.

The following year, he received the
lead in a television series, Clubhouse. However, due to poor
ratings, it was cancelled after a few episodes.

In 2005, he was in a made for TV movie
for teens about a teenage boy who becomes addicted to pornography on
the Internet. The movie is called Cyber Seduction: His Secret
Life.

He will be appearing in the movie
The
Sasquatch Dumpling Gang in 2006 where his character, Gavin Gore
and a few friends find huge footprints in the back yard.
