• In 1995, at about the age of 21, he decided to pursue an acting career. He moved out to L.A. and was quickly cast in the TV series entitled Dangerous Minds, playing the tough High School kid named Gusmaro Lopez.  The show was based on the movie of the same name.  Unfortunately, the show only lasted one season.  However, it was not due to Greg, who was recognized by receiving a 1996 NCLR Bravo Award nomination and a 1998 ALMA Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.

• However, he bounced around the industry over the next few years, appearing in various television episodes such as Diagnosis Murder in 1997, E.R. and Touched by an Angel in 1998, and The Pretender in 1999.  He also appeared in several films over this time period, such as his debut in The Rich Man's Wife (1996), The Journey: Absolution (1997), The Postman (1997), Road Dogz (2000), The Cross (2001), Semper Fi (2001) and Frailty (2001).

• Although many of the roles were small and did not provide him with much attention, he learned from each role and his co-actors with each filming.  In 2001, he appeared as the good looking hunk in Legally Blonde, and this was followed up in 2002, he received his first starring role, in the made for TV movie, Clive Barker's Saint Sinner.  The movie was mildly successful, but was able to provide Greg with a little bit of the spotlight - especially amongst Sci-Fi enthusiasts.

• His Sci-Fi notoriety was able to get him roles on episodes of The Twilight Zone in 2002 and The Dead Zone in 2003.  He also appeared on episodes of CSI in 2002 and North Shore in 2004.  After a small role in National Security in 2003, he had a substantial role in the TV series Kingpin, also in 2003.

• He is currently filming for the third season of the hit television series Wildfire on ABC Family - in which he plays, friendly good-looking head horse trainer Pablo Betart. [I didn't know there were any horses where he grew up in Brooklyn.]

• In July 2006, Serano was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife Carmen and his 15 year old stepson.
