Brad Pitt was born on December 18, 1963
in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jane and Bill Pitt. He was the oldest
of three children (brother Doug and sister Julie).
He had a normal childhood and was very
active in school plays, sports (tennis), the debate team and church.
His family also moved to Springfield, Missouri when he was a child.
He attended Kickapoo High School in
Springfield and after graduating in 1982, he attended the University
of Missouri-Columbia. He majored in Journalism.
Although, it was never his ambition growing up, he moved to Los
Angeles before graduating to pursue a career as an actor. He
lied to his parents and told them he was finishing up school in
L.A., since he only needed two more classes to graduate.
At first, he did not receive any acting
jobs, however, he took acting lessons by day while working odd jobs
to make money (e.g., delivering appliances, a limo driver for
strippers and wearing a Chicken costume for a fast food restaurant).
His looks and talents eventually earned
him appearances on television, such as Dallas and Another
World. He kept pushing and eventually made his movie debut in
Cutting Class. It was during the filming of this movie that
he met long-time actress girlfriend Jill Schoelen.

luck changed in 1994 when he appeared in Legends of the Fall
in which he gained international acclaim as an actor and a sex
symbol (especially after People magazine classified him as
the “Sexiest Man Alive”). For this role he received the
Bronze Wrangler Award for Theatrical
Motion Picture and was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best
Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. While all this
was happening, he also won the 1993 ShoWest Male Star of Tomorrow
award.
