Currently airing on the Disney Channel, The Wiggles dance and sing their way into the hearts of children everywhere and is the #1 program in its time slot with children aged 2-5. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing is the second offering in the Wiggles & Learn series and features special guest Wiggle Leo Sayers who joins Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt and Sam Moran to show off their best dancing moves. The Wiggles’ experience as early childhood educators has taught them that children learn best through play, and this DVD is the perfect offering for young ones to play, dance and sing along to.  Some of the new songs featured on the DVD include “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing,” “The Shimmie Shake!,” “Banana Boat Song,” and “I Drive The Big Red Car”.

Our Review of Title

I want to start out and make this clear -- this is my first review for a DVD for children of pre-school age.  Although I consider myself a child at heart, I am really speaking of the older child that watches animated superheroes, Scooby-Doo, Popeye and such stuff.  I also love movies like the Sandlot, Goonies, etc.  However, when it comes to stuff like the Wiggles, Barney, Big Comfy Couch and other shows targeted towards to the toddler crowd, I have watched many hours of them with my children, but as you all know, are not something I would sit down and watch on my own. So I am going to write this review as a parent, for parents and family members/friends that are thinking of purchasing a DVD for a young child.  Well I guess that since the actual viewers of these shows cannot yet read, who else am I going to write this to (LOL!).

So, onto the DVD --- I did watch this with a young child to see their reaction.  Although I am going to give my own opinions, there is nothing like feedback from the experts -- the kids themselves.  Because this is a DVD with The Wiggles, I immediately received a positive reaction.  Kids (like adults for the most part) like things that they are familiar with, and there are not many pre-schoolers out there (from all around the world) that do not know about the Wiggles. So I put the DVD into the player and pressed play.  For most of the DVD the child watched and a few times even danced to the songs.  After the DVD was over, I was told that they wanted "more" and when directly asked if they liked it, I got a head shaking up and down in the affirmative.  So, for the young reviewer gave this DVD a positive review.

For me, the older reviewer, I cannot really say anything bad about the DVD.  As a parent I like the Wiggles because I am familiar with them and their brand and know that they provide good clean and wholesome fun for the kids.  Although I may have watched many of the episodes on TV a multiple of times, and very familiar with many of the standard songs, I have to admit that it is watchable, even by an adult.  What I like about this DVD is that it includes a multiple of new songs and skits so that (at least for the first time), it keeps the adult mind interested in the events and songs on the TV screen.  The fact that the actors encourage the kids to get up and dance is also nice to see -- it gets the kids moving, instead of sitting around like couch potatoes like most other kids (and their parents).

The DVD is very well done and produced and The Wiggles are their usual professional selves.  It is interesting to see that they have aged over the years.  This is also the first DVD I have seen exclusively with Sam.  Who is Sam you ask?  Do to illness, the original Yellow Wiggle, Greg (Page) had to retire from the group at the end of 2006.  He was been replaced by Sam Moran, who has taken over as the new Yellow Wiggle.  Although my pre-school reviewer did not make any mention of the change, it was interesting to see a new face and voice. The transition has probably been more of an issue for us parents than for the kids (like when Steve left Blue Clues a few years ago).  But then again, I do not remember having issues when the voice of Barney Rubble changed on the Flintstones those many years ago.

So as a reader, you are reading this review with one question in mind - should I purchase this DVD.  As a parent I would strongly suggest it and my little reviewer seconds my opinion. [Reviewed by Ian Ripley]
