Eliminate A Suspect |
Kyra Sedwick continues to please audiences in here role as Deputy Chief Brenda
Johnson. She is headstrong, smart, wily (to the accused) and a bit
off-center in her own personal life. The writing also continues to be
fantastic.
Okay, end of review, what else do you want to know about the show?
Well, in this season Brenda and her long time beau decided to finally hitch the knot. While Brenda is always on-the-ball at work, her personal life, especially it's romantic aspects, are anything but smooth. Every episode I keep wondering what she is going to do to kill the wedding plans. That whole episode about the big-house/small house (i.e., kids/no kids), I thought was going to derail any plans of the marriage taking place, or when she derails his investigation by sending him on a wild goose-chase, could have ended it right there as well, not to mention their interesting families (her parents and his sister).
However, the episodes are not about her personal life, it is about her and her team trying to solve murders. Actually, this is not entirely true. Due to a pain in the neck newspaper reporter, her team went from just priority murders to major crimes, which means that besides murder, they investigate rapes, robberies, and all other types of nasty crimes. My biggest criticism of the show is that after watching a number of seasons, the questioning of the accused perps seems to go the same way all too often -- they almost never ask to have an attorney present, and they always seem to give away the bank to Deputy Chief Johnson too easily. I know that the questioning portion is kind of her "shtick," but I would like to see some more of the crime scene investigation being put to use, where they nail the accused without them having to always confess to it. However, I still love her shtick and will continue to watch it.
The DVD also includes a few bonuses!!
