Our Review of Scooby-Doo Where Are You? V2

Scooby Doo Where Are You?Scooby-Dooby-Doo where are you . . .  .Scooby-Doo is on DVD if you want to see this team of mystery solving teenage sleuths.  This is the second volume of the Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Saturday morning series and includes the next 4 episodes (5-8).

The episodes continue with the same basic format of this series and pits the teen crime fighting team against bad guys waiting to break the law.  As usual, the criminals use some type of supernatural myth or scare tactic to cover up their true intentions.  With the help of Scooby and friends, the criminal misconduct is uncovered through the bumbling of Scooby and Shaggy and a few insightful clues uncovered by Daphne and Fred.  However, it is usually Velma that puts all of the clues together to unravel the diabolical plots.

The four episodes on this DVD include: Decoy For A Dognapper where the dog show contestants mysteriously disappear; they tackle a hex spewing  ghost in What The Hex Is Going On?; they go Hollywood and try to uncover a mystery for Daphne's movie-maker uncle in Never Ape and Ape Man (the gang always seems to know a lot of people who seem to be in some type of trouble); and Foul Play in Funland brings the teenage team into an amusement park size mystery.

As a side bonus, episodes from the Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue series are included for your viewing pleasure.  This is another great collection of Scooby-Doo episodes that are great for you and your children.

MORE CLASSIC ANIMATED FUN WITH

THE SECOND VOLUME OF

SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU!

ON DVD MAY 5, 2009

DVD Set to Feature Four Captivating Episodes from the Series’ First Season

Picture from Scooby Doo Where Are YouBURBANK, CA (February 4, 2009) – A haunted amusement park, a dog-napping operation and an ape man who disrupts a movie set are some of the zany predicaments the Mystery Inc. gang encounters on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 2, available on DVD May 5, 2009 from Warner Home Video (WHV).  This second collection of classic Scooby-Doo cartoons features four episodes from the original.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! first made its debut during CBS’ Saturday morning lineup and became an instant hit.   The series follows the adventures of Daphne, Fred, Shaggy, Velma and Scooby-Doo as they solve cases typically involving ghosts, monsters or other supernatural forces. Hi-jinks always ensue, with their investigations resulting in entertaining chase scenes mixed with catchy musical numbers and comedic antics. This hit program spawned several spin-off series, specials, consumer products and live action films.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 2 features the following episodes:

Decoy for a Dognapper – When several top show dogs are stolen, including a pedigreed female dog Scooby falls for, the kids go after a $500 reward offered by one of the dogs’ owners -- it is up to Scooby-Doo to be a decoy for the dognappers.

What the Hex Going On? – A friend invites the gang to spend the weekend at her family's estate, the Kingston Mansion, but a ghost turns up and changes her Uncle Stewart into an old man.

Scooby-Doo and friends pictureNever Ape an Ape Man – Daphne’s Uncle Maxwell, a movie director, hires the entire gang as extras in his new film: The Ape Man of Forbidden Mountain.  Although the film is shooting on-location, the set is soon closed when a real ape man shows up and wreaks havoc on the set.

Foul Play in Funland – The gang highly anticipates the opening of a new amusement park, but while clam-digging outside of it, the gang see the rides moving not only before the park is open, but with no passengers, as well.  Drawn into another mystery, the gang sets out to see if the park is haunted.

“The Scooby-Doo franchise is one of the most important properties in our library.  Previous releases have performed exceptionally and we anticipate this title to be a big hit with consumers,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Sports Marketing.  He added, “These episodes are from the original Scooby-Doo series, the one that first introduced us to all those wonderful characters, which have gone on to achieve such longevity and tremendous popularity.  We think consumers will be delighted with the selection of cartoons on this DVD.”
