Our Review of New York Yankees: 1977 World Series
The quality of the games, at least the visual, is excellent, and the announcing gives you the feeling of being back in 1977 (especially with those on-screen score & batting details. It is also just really cool to watch those old players not only play, but also enjoy the game. Seeing Jackson smack those consecutive homers, even when expecting it, is still exciting.
Besides the games, the DVD set goes even further, with game 5 of the ALCS, and find out what happened after the victory with the clubhouse victory celebration and of course the presentation of the Trophy. What I really enjoyed, as a sports fan was the extra featurettes, such as a documentary on Jackson's 3 Home Runs ("Inside Moments") and a bunch of awesome interviews with a number of the cast of characters on the team.
A must for baseball fans, a more than must for Yankees fans.

Let
me start right off the bat that I am NOT a NY Yankees fan, nor am I a Dodgers
fan, however, I am a fan of baseball. I was still a youngster in 1977, but
do have memories of the Series, especially of Mr. October's home runs. I was a
kid, it was a hyped up East vs. West competition and included a very colorful
team of egos and athletic talents such as Reggie Jackson, Thurman Munson, Ron
Guidry and Lou Piniella to name a few.
