1) Who were your musical influences growing up?

My musical influences are Left E Eye, Da Brat, E-40, Salt N peppa, Queen Latifah, Yo-yo. I chose them because their lyrics really reached out to me and I could understand where they were coming from. Not too many artist are lyrics with their songs, they just make them to get the party jumpin'.

2) It states on your MySpace page that hip-hop has been "watered down" as of late -- please explain.

It has, the music has changed. The people in it has changed. Overall Hip Hop is just not the same anymore, not that it’s a terrible thing, but I believe its just so mainstream now, that anyone feels like they can come in and make any type of hip hop music they want, which makes it hard for the real artist out there that have been doing this for years and still haven’t accomplished anything.

3) What distinguishes you from all the other hip-hop artists out there?

Well first and for most, I have my own reality TV show called “Diva TV”. It airs here in the Bay Area on 20 public access stations and soon to air online on several other stations. Lyrically I think I probably have the best yet, most of these female rappers are out there rap about themselves or others topics that aren’t relevant to their audience. This is entertainment, and you must relate, especially if people are buying your album and supporting your music.

4) You have previously done some modeling, what magazines/ads have you been in?

I have, unfortunately my modeling career didn’t blow up like my music. I was only featured in a few independent publications that didn’t actually go anywhere. I mostly did modeling for photographers that were looking to fill up their portfolio.

5) Was the song "Mr. Right" based on your personal experiences?

Yes. At one point in my life, I liked so many guys, that I really didn’t know who to chose from. I had so many taste, so I thought I would make a song that all ladies would like.

6) Who are your favorite artists?

Favorite artist are e-40, TLC, Chamillionaire, Yukmouth, Eminem.

7) What is your all-time favorite album -- why?

Good question, I would have to say Pac’s album “All Eyes on Me”….or E-40’s Ghetto Report Card.

8) Do you think it is harder for you to break into the music industry because you are a woman -- or has female hip-hoppers become as accepted as their male counterparts?

Well, as I have told others in the past, to me its not about being a female. I think an artist is an artist, and talent is talent. I think people always want to point at the female being the weakest, because we have more issues and drama in our life then men, which is true, but most of the females that fall off in this business, its usually their fault. I’m an artist, just as much as the next person is, so I don’t feel that I’m in a dominated world full of men, I feel that I’m a piece of the puzzle that is contributing good art to this game.

9) What was the most challenging thing about making your upcoming album?

Well my album is actually in stores now J It released Oct 30^th of 2007. We are just focusing on making more music an hitting the streets hard with promotion. But the most challenging thing about making this album is creating concepts and figuring out who I want to feature on certain songs. It’s real hard when you have multiple singers on hand and rappers, you just don’t know who to choose from to be featured on certain songs because they all sound good.

10) Why should people purchase your album?

If you want to know what a real female rapper sounds like, come listen to me. Buy my album, I guarantee you will like at least one song on it. If not, then you will like my beats, if not then you will like my lyrics, and if not that lol you will like my style and the way I look.
