Dan Nelson Biography

Dan Nelson (born June 21, 1976[1]) is the former lead vocalist of American thrash metal band Anthrax, replacing John Bush (the previous full time singer) and Joey Belladonna (who was previously on tour with Anthrax for a special reunion in 2005–2006). [2]

Dan Nelson has also worked with the Long Island bands Discipline and Devilsize. Nelson's vocal style is reminiscent of Chris Cornell, John Bush and Phil Anselmo, the former Pantera and current frontman of Down.[citation needed]

Dan Nelson also plays the bass, guitar, and drums. He has done so in the past while singing in previous projects.

On July 21, 2009 a statement was released by Anthrax manager Izvor Zivkovic of Split Media stating that "The members of Anthrax have confirmed the departure of vocalist Dan Nelson... Anthrax is already actively considering lead singer candidates, and looks forward to hitting the road before the end of the year." [3]
