Our Review of the DVD:

Gary Cooper is perhaps one of the greatest Hollywood actors - ever. The Gary Cooper Signature Collection DVD set includes some of his best work, including the movie that brought him his first Academy Award - Sergeant York. Cooper loved the silver screen and the screen loved him as "the leading man."

This collection provides different aspects of Cooper's range and roles from a military hero, to a gun slinger to a sailor to a lover. There are many sides to his talent and this set showcases them all.

The set also includes some great features, including a biography on Cooper that was narrated by Clint Eastwood. I would also recommend watching the documentary on the real Sergeant York, the real hero the movie was based on.

All five movies are great in their own way with classic performances by Cooper and his co-stars. However, it would have been nice to also have his other Oscar winning (High Noon) or Oscar nominated movies (Pride of the Yankees, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town) in the collection, but I am sure that volume 2 will soon follow.
