The latest album from Three 6 Mafia is called Last 2 Walk and maintains that sound from the street that initially prompted their rise to fame.   After they became the first black group to ever win an Academy Award for Best Song for "Its Hard Out Here For A Pimp," fans became anxious to see if the fame would affect their music.  Their album clearly shows that they have a lot of the street left in them and are still staying true music and their fans.

The album features the last two remaining members of the band Juicy J and DJ Paul, and is probably a reflection of the albums title - Last 2 Walk (i.e., the last 2 members left).  The duo seems to have had fun with recording the music and they even play some jokes on the audience within the album.  The quality of the production is top-notch.  The sound is clear Three 6 Mafia and is just as solid as past releases.

If you are a fan of their music, this one stays right on course, and like almost every other rap or hip-hop album out there features other performers.  Some of the artists include Akon on "That's Right," Lyfe Jennings on "Hood Star," and an unexpected Good Charlotte on "My Own Way."  Sometimes I like when other musicians blend their own sound to other songs, however, sometimes I say to myself, "can't these people record their own album by themselves?"

Overall I liked the sound and lyrics of the songs, although like so many other hip-hop artists out there, they need to be self-complementary.  We know who they are or else we would not be listening to them - let's hear the lyrics and music.  They even mention their Oscar win -- yes, we know, let's move on with something new.  It is a very good album with much of the same old stuff and sound, however, this album does not break any new ground or continue to push the bar with any of its tracks.
