Review of Graffiti The World

This is another album that I really did not like the first time through, however, in subsequent listening, the album became better. It is during subsequent listenings that I began to listen to the lyrics.  When you listen to the lyrics with the instruments (that are not great, but not bad either), the album becomes very enjoyable to listen to. The vocals are pleasing, even very funny at times (although I do not care as much about the rap vocals). Some of their songs even have a good beat that can be danced to.

Graffiti is a really great album to kick back and listen to with a bottle of beer in your hand by yourself or with some buds.  They are probably really great to see in concert.  I cannot say that they are a great band, but they do have a unique sound that is good and stays with you.  I can see them being very big with the college crowd due to their lyrics and sound.  However, they do have a few songs that show some real non-pop potential as musicians such as in "Red Water" which also has some interesting lyrics.

My own favorite song, for the lyrics and overall song is "Walk Away," even with the rapping.  Another really good track is "The Bartender," which also has some really good lyrics.  Rehab are story tellers, and although not as refined as a Billy Joel or Rod Stewart, they do have a lot of potential to do more. However, they are providing the right music for their target audience.

To summarize, I like the album, although not the usual music I listen to, but once you get listening to them, they are a lot better than my initial introduction to them.  It will be really interesting to see where or how far they go in the future.

"I'm leavin' . . . feel free to shoot me in the back -- Just walk away."
