Ms. Jackson returns to the stage with Discipline, the 9th album from her illustrious career, and the first under her new contract with Island Def Jam.  "Feedback", the lead single off the album. is a testimony of Janet's long shelf life, as it soared to the top of the billboard charts becoming Jackson's first No. 1 single since 2001's "All for you".  The final product, however, leaves much to be desired. The  Jackson royal delivers a mediocre dance/pop album, relying mainly on the beat-heavy synthetic tracks to catch its audience's attention.  Discipline takes us on a futuristic journey, as Janet sets off on a trip to outer space, detailing predictable tales of heartbreak, and a hidden Sado-Maso obsession on title-track "Discipline".   Despite the all-star producer ensemble (Dupri, The Dream, and Rodney Jerkins) the album fails to give Ms. Jackson her desired musical comeback, falling in the ranks of her less than noteworthy performances since the Velvet Rope. Discipline leaves us pondering, if its time for this Jackson to surrender her crown, leaving the pop/r&B throne to next generation of  pop stars.
