Review of Dance Revolution

Geffen records began the hype months ago about a group of young talented girls that will take over the airwaves. Next they appeared on their own Saturday morning special on CBS.  Now the Slumber Party Girls (SPG for short) have released their debut album entitled “Dance Revolution.”

The marketing efforts have been focused on the teen and tween crowd and this album hits the mark.  The girls sing fun, upbeat songs that any teen would love.  It does not hurt that the girls actually can sing the songs.  The songs are as diverse as the girls with songs in the flavor of bubblegum pop (e.g., “Bubblegum”), dance (e.g., “Countdown” & “Back to Basics”), Latin beat (e.g., “Salsa”) and rock (“My Life”) genres.

The album has something for all tastes, but the entire album is done well – and can be enjoyed by all, even if you are not a teenager.  From the sounds of their debut album, the group has a very bright future ahead of them.
