Kevin Cahoon
was born in Houston, Texas.
-
He was a
born entertainer and took to singing as a young child.
-
Cahoon
showed talent early and at thirteen, he was the first Teen Male
Vocalist Grand Champion on Star Search (a popular television
series talent show in the mid 1980s, like American Idol
today).

He attended
the
Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in New York.
-
His
theatrical debut was as Gus in the Guthrie Theater production of
Babes in Arms in Minneapolis, Minnesota and his Broadway
debut was in 1993, when he appeared in the ensemble for The Who's
Tommy. Other Broadway roles included appearances in The
Lion King, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty, Bang
Bang and the Wedding Singer. He has also appeared
off Broadway in a number of shows, including his critically
acclaimed appearance as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Itch.

Theater is
not the only venue for Cahoon's acting talents and he has appeared
in a few movies such as the Curse of the Jade Scorpion as
well as appearances on a number of television series.

Besides his
acting career, Kevin has recently begun to branch out into the music
scene with his band Kevin Cahoon and the Ghetto Boy. The band
is a combination of punk, rock, glam and glitter, and so is their
music. They released their debut album, entitled Doll,
in 2006. The album has already won the Outmusic Award for Best
Male Debut Recording, The Pabst Blue Ribbon NYC Band Search Award,
and Honorable Mention from Billboard Magazine for it's Songwriting.
